PowerDVD/XP Home Reboot issue

Hi,,,
Got a head scratcher going here.

AMD 2700XP Thurobred 333bus
kingston pc 2700/333/512 meg
soyo K7VME w/onboard junk
sony cdrw
sony dvd
80g wd 7200 rpm
XP Home SP1 oem
power dvd bundled with drive

EVERYTHING works PERFECT EXCEPT power DVD,
I Open The Program,, It Opens Fine,,But By default it selects drice "D" as the default drive,, When I Click The Tools button on the power DVD interface to change default drive To "E",,, BANG BSOD~!

Code On Bluescreen is as follows:

These componets are all brand new,, And like i mentioned,EVERYTHING else seems to be working GREAT,,, Just That one weird issue

Im Not Sure why,,, but the patch @ Cyberlinks site for audio fixed it,, Go figure.
This is the First time Ive ever had powerdvd NOT work on a machine,,But, I Guess theres always an odd one in the bunch,

BTW,, all the via-arenia and windows updates were already in place,,
Another symtom i had after the post was as follows,,
Windows media would play the movie,, But without any Audio,Even though windows audio worked fine on other multimedia files,, Hmmmm Had Me Pullin Hairs here,, And I Cant spare many more lol

This is happening to me, too.

WinXP Pro w/ SP1
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton, 333
unknown RAM brand - 2700, 333, 512 MB
SOYO K7VMP2 w/ onboard audio, video, LAN, etc
NEC DVD-RW model ND-2500A
Quantum Fireball 60 GB
PowerDVD 4.0.0.2417 (lastest build, patched from www.gocyberlink.com)

I don't get a blue screen (STOP) message. Mine goes straight to POST/BIOS screen.

This was happening before I patched PowerDVD.

Tried updating audio/video/etc drivers from Windows Update, as well as from SOYO's Web site.

Replaced IDE cable with a brand new one.

I have all latest Windows Updates, except for a couple like Windows Media 9.

Booted to a CD and ran a RAM test...checks out okay.

Everything else works fine. I am able to rip and burn CDs and DVDs just fine.

DVDs play fine in Windows Media Player. Of course, it sucks compared to PowerDVDs functionality.

That being said, try removing PowerDVD completely and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, start a new thread with all of YOUR problem details.
