System hang at post. Work of the devil.

Ok... so I come home from work... and go to turn on my pc... it wont turn on. I look down.. and notice that my fans are going and lit up... I think... wierd. So I flip the switch on the pack of the power supply. Still on... so I unplug it from the wall... still on. So I figure my power suppply crapped on me and I have a bad capacitor or something that it keeping these fans powered. I go buy a new power supply... and then it powers on... except now.. when it is posting "Checking NVRAM" it hangs there for like 5 minutes. Then it boots normally... whats up with that?

Might have lightly toasted something... Try resetting the bios using the jumper on the mainboard. If that does not help, start removing components and setting the bios to "update nvram" each time.

Okay... I was attempting to boot from a flash drive to re-flash the bios... when it suddenly started working again. I went ahead the re-flashed the bios... but now every few times I boot up... it says "New CPU detected!" and sends me to the bios setup screen. Now what!?

To rule out a bad battery, I went and bought a replacement... still doing the same thing. Everytime I boot, I have to go to the bios and save new settings. Really annoying. Sigh.

Have you tried what NooNoo has asked yet? Let us know, as well, what mainboard and bios revision. It's not overclocked, is it?

did you change the bios jumper. it sounds like it is just resetting itself after each reboot. it is always a good idea after flashing the bios to restore defaults and then change the settings you want.
