Omega Composer?
Anyone ever hear of this program? I have a client who owns a Monument company and prints headstones for cemetaries. The program is called Omega Composer version 1.5.0.83
He had a Canon Bubblejet printer hooked to it for years and it finally died. He bought an HP Deskjet with parallel connection and hooked it up & we now get an error message within the program saying "cannot find printer". Prints from all other windows apps, & there are no setup options anywhere in the program that I can find to set the default printer.
There is a Gerber System tray icon that you can go into to see what printers are installed, but when you add a new one, there is no place to add the drivers for the hp.
What I don't understand is that I installed it, within the program, as a text-only printer on LPT1 & it still gave me that error.
The program is made by Gerber Scientific Products, but their tech support is more or less non-existent to the end user. If anybody has any ideas here, I would really appreciate hearing them. Thank you and have a great day.
PS -- the PC is running Windows 98se

What is the printer port set to in bios and what does device manager think it is?

It's parallel, but I figured it out in the meantime. The user's manual says that the program prints to the windows default printer, so I deleted the registry entry & let the program recreate it. Works great now. Thanks for trying to help, though.
