Am using a GeForce 3 Asus V8200. Would a GeForce FX 5200 perform any better? All of these cards say FX 5200, but are they the same?

yes a fx5200 will give better preformance
yes all those cards have the same fx5200 chip, but are produced my different peoples, so each one could yield different preformance
plus they dont have a DVI out for digital flat screens

Hey I have a FX 5200 256 mb maybe i can answer ur question. As far as I can tell, nVidia and ATI license their GPUs out to other companies who make their own cards with the nVidia and ATI GPUs, maybe they add some RAM, or modify it a little but its the same GPU on a different card. Of course they call it the same thing, for instance:
XFX, one of those companies with the license make their own FX 5200s and and GeForce 4s and whatnot has two versions of the 5200, a 256mb and a 128mb. Though I think they have the same GPU (equivalent of a cpu for the video card). So nVidia only makes one FX 5200 (the 128 mb) but XFX took the 5200 GPU, slapped it on two different cards with different amounts of RAM. Obviously the one with the more RAM is somewhat better. Hope that answered your question.
Oh yeah and if u buy the cards nVidia makes youll be paying more than if u buy from one of its licensees. There are a bunch although i forgot all of em except for XFX (http://www.xfxforce.com)
The XFX FX 5200 256 mb I have has DVI, Tv-out and VGA. TV-Out isnt bad resolution what affects that is the tv u are using. Plus DVI is cool cuz even if u dont have a flatscreen with DVI u can get an adapter for like 14 bucks and use two monitors on the same comp.
