I know there's a way to change the language display in XP, I've tried everything I found through either Microsoft or Google, but I can't seem to get this laptop to switch from Italian to English. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Don't think you can. You would need to load a localised version of Italian XP on the pc to get that.Quote:

Nothing to stop you loading apps in any language but once installed the OS remains whatever language it was installed in.

Why would you build an O.S. without the ability to change the language & regional settings for the user given their location & language preference?Quote:

Why would you do lots of things the way Billy Boy does ? Because he has the undisputed market dominance to do whatever the hell he likes - that's why - Emr's reasoning I think though is only 1/2 right - there's a new 'feature' in w2k onwards ..Quote:

But surley they sell local language versions, in the non-english speaking bits of Europe, surley ?Quote:
How can I acquire Windows MUI?
The Windows XP/2000 MUI is sold only through Volume Licensing programs such as the Microsoft Open License Program (MOLP / Open), Select, and Enterprise agreement (or with a new computer as an OEM version at customer request). It is not available through retail channels.
That's interesting about the MUI option.Quote:

I figured you'd have more experience of this than I ! (being 'foreign' & all :D) , but its 'news' to you too is it ?Quote:

I sub-contract on a field assignment program in Poland for a big finance company - he sends me all the errors in Polish & then English ('cos I don't speak Polish ! -infact I ain't too sure whether I'm even spelling it right ! :D) but his copy can be switched from Polish to english & back again ..
