Bubba Ho-Tep

Just got this on DVD yesterday. Most of y'all know I'm a big fan of Bruce Campbell, and I'd been itching to see this movie for a while, but unfortunately, it never made it near here in the theatres.

So anyway, the movie itself is a nice blend of comedy and horror. If you don't know the plot, Bruce plays Elvis or a guy who is convinced he is in fact Elvis. He lives in a nursing home in Texas, where his best friend is a black guy who is convinced he's John F. Kennedy. The two of them discover that a mummy is hanging our the nursing home, stealing the souls of the residents by night to keep himself alive. So they hatch a plot to take care of the mummy once and for all.

Yeah, I know it sounds ridiculous - and it is - but its pretty damn funny. It's already become one of my favorite Bruce Campbell projects, right up there with the Evil Dead movies and the Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

Didn't catch that one, but I did get to see "House of 1,000 Corpses"

I'll have to admit it was a strange one. I don't know if it was comedy or a horror. It started out pretty funny until it got to the last 1/3 of the movie and then it got pretty gruesome. The music was great!

Well, that Otis avatar was only gonna hang around a few weeks when the film first came out, but then Scott upgraded to VB3 and uploading new avatars was disabled. It took me a year to find an avatar that was worth bugging Scott to upload for me - Bass rules!

went to buy Bubba Ho-Tep the other day, but they didn't have it. A friend of mine snagged it up yesterday and I'm gonna bug him to bring it over.

always liked Bruce Campbell in Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. :thumbs:

I dropped a subtle hint to the missus and kid the other day.

"Ya know, if someone was to buy that for me for fathers day or whateverthehell holliday that might come up where I get presents that sure would be at the top of my list..."

Like I said, it was a subtle hint so I'm hoping.

I think I'll make sure the web site is on her PC when she comes home tonight to remind her...

I take my dad to hooters for father's day. And I took my mom to hooters for mothers day too.

I pretty much take everyone to hooters for just about every occasion.

movie was sweet, its evil dead meets elvis

Didn't anyone else kind of find it sad? I did. Downright depressing about how old age cripples the man/woman that was there and how things only become more and more old hack as you get older.

It was funny too and I did like it a hell of a lot.

Hey, Elvis and his walker chasing the mummy how can you beat it? If I lose my sense of humor when I get old and can't take a joke on my own condition, then I don't need to get old.

I meant the parts where he's griping about being old and not enjoying life anymore and stuff.
