Oops forgot to add. Yeah techs if I had to guess amyb is correct it's particulate matter drifting down from Clark County Nevada and some coming over from the LA Basin (prevailing western winds). The ozone count is actually quite good there today.
I gotta say I've been lucky the last several years. For twelve years I lived in Arizona and I enjoyed the Grand Canyon on 14 occassions (the North Rim is freakin' awesome).
