Gymnastics officials ask Hamm to give up the gold
World gymnastics officials asked Paul Hamm to give up his gold medal as the ultimate show of sportsmanship, but the U.S. Olympic Committee told them to take responsibility for their own mistakes and refused even to deliver the request.
Bravo. Hamm says if he knew he needed a higher score to win he would have performed a more difficult routine. Keep the gold, I say.

The Roy Jones gold medal boxing match from Seoul Korea comes to mind. Roy was fighting a South Korean for the gold medal and he absolutely beat the crap out of the guy in every single round, there was not a single person that has ever watched the match that could honestly say the match was close, let alone scoring it for the South Korean. To everyone's amazement the judges had scored it for the South Korean, who looked more surprised than anyone when the judgement was read over the PA system.
He felt so badly for Roy Jones because of how obviously crappy the whole thing was that he went over to Roy and held his arm up and pointed at him to let everyone know that he knew what everyone else but the judges knew.
Noone gave Roy a gold medal and Paul Hamm shouldn't even consider giving his back. At least in gymnastics the participants are allowed to file a complaint about their score, which this guy didn't even do until it was too late.
It's no wonder he's so into wanting to re-elect Dubya. He hasn't a clue whats happening in the world other than what he knows from watching Bill O'Reilly on Fox News.Quote:
