Not sure what you mean by a "patch" to make your OS detect a drive. Any OS natively supports IDE drives w/o a "patch". So, either your CD/DVD doesn't work, or I am confused by what you mean. Is this an internal drive?Quote:

Yep the sony drive needs to be set as the master use the jumper on the back of the drive and it should have a diagram on top to tell you how to set it.
Checked the jumper it's set correctly and yes i just installed it.Quote:

No bios wasn't detecting so i changed the cable works fine I guess it was a faulty cable. :thumbs:Quote:
