Display monitor problem
Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504. Win XP SP1. NVIDIA GeForce2 Go (Toshiba)
It is two years old. No physical damage.
I have a problem with the Monitor. (Display)
After the Computer has been on for 10 to 15 minutes, the display becomes distorted.
The colors and graphics look something like a color photo negative. The text remains clear and legible. If I power down the monitor, using the Power Management settings to one minute, and then re-activate it, it returns to normal for a few minutes. I can repeat this over and over. I installed the latest Driver from Toshiba without luck. The Video works fine on an external CRT monitor. I can hear the fan.
The problem is the same in Safe Mode and VGA
I have been told that I need a new LCD. I have also been told that it might be a Driver conflict. I do not understand why it should take 10 to 15 minutes to conflict. In any event, I uninstalled the Monitor with the Device Manager and let Windows re-install. This almost cured the problem. It would only flicker into distortion and return to normal. Normal most of the time. When I re-install the latest driver from Toshiba, the problem returns and it is worse. If it is a Driver conflict, how do I find the conflict?
Perhaps a loose connection?
Any ideas will be most appreciated.
Joe
