DUAL BOOT XP & Connecting to a Network

I have two installs of XP Pro [SP1 all current updates except sp2]

I would like both be able to connect to the network

Sounds simple enough!

When I run the network ID wizard on the first install - No problem connects fine

So I run the Network ID on the second install - No problem connects fine
- but -
Now the first install can no longer login in "Can not find Domain Controller"
I login through the local admin account and re-run the Network ID wizard - No problem connects fine

Now the second install can no longer login in "Can not find Domain Controller"

This just goes back and forth - It seem I am only allowed one connect to the network

Has anybody run into this before and does anybody know how to solve this issue

Did you name the network name of the computer the same? If so, there's your problem. Only one name per GUID (also know as SID). If you did this, rename the one that isn't connecting, and reconnect to the domain.

And don't use the "connection wizard". Just go into system properties, and the "computer name" tab, use the "change" button. Just change to a work group, reboot, then change the name, reboot, then add to the domain, all from the change button.

I think your right...I completely forgot about that
