The homepage is still messed up. I can fix it. I'm sure many members here could too. I was thinking it would be fun for several of us to redesign the homepage, post it, then vote on which one works best. Yay? Nay? What do you think of this idea Richard1? Or do you guys already have something in the works?
i think not. I don't do free work for large corporations.
i like it how it is so i can read the posts of people who register for the forum just to complain

i understan that, but you are still offering your expert services at no cost to some company that will profit off of your work. Good work should be paid for IMHO
You are thinking short term, I am thinking long term. Let's say hypothetically that I designed this awesome homepage for Windrivers.com. I put that on my resume and get this really great job making a gazillion dollars a year because of it. Or I could be snooty and ask for a few bucks for a few hours of work. yes, but many companies will delve into your portfolio if it is a elite position, and when they see you did the work for free it'll give them more leverage in salary negotiations.

I love how on one hand you have people saying that if you really want to get into a business you should volunteer and such. Then we also get the people like right now, that call you an absolute idiot for trying to sharpen your skills, get some type of accredation from people in the field and that you should just stick with designing pron sites I guess.

Yeah. I like how a simple idea to help improve WD and to have a little fun gets turned into this whole big complicated thing. Jeez,.. excuse me for wanting to have some fun with Photoshop and Dreamweaver and maybe gain a bit of professional experience without any pressure, in the process. :rolleyes:
