We've done this before, let's do it again

It's amazing,.. the whole reason I am here is because a looooooonnnggg time ago I needed to find a driver for something. This was probably back in 98 or 99 or maybe even 97. Can't remember. (I was coming here to this site for a long time before I ever registered and participated.) I always came here to get drivers (also, winfiles.com at the time was a good tech spot) and one day I was bored and noticed some funny words on the homepage. I guess they had bits and peices of the lounge on the homepage at the time. I always came to the homepage to see those bits and peices. Little did I know at the time that there was an entire bulletin board full of them inside. One day I found the whole board, and gained even more interest, but still didn't register. I remember Darren Wilson, Cobra, Lycia, Jungleman, Iateyourcat (now Silencio), and many other names posting all this crazy funny stuff. Then finally, I couldn't resist. I wanted to start posting too. Created an account with the screenname "aggro-zone" and started posting my own stuff. After about 1000 different screennames, participating in many "spin-off" BB's created by many of the WD members, working on the WD Friends page many moons ago after Jvaguy wasn't able to do it anymore, and lots of other stuff,... here I am still here posting. Amazing. Ah the memories. :)

Anyone else care to share their Windrivers story?

I started coming around for drivers back in 96 or 97, and the site always worked for me. At the time I was upgrading my tech knowledge at alt.certificanion.aplus, or whatever it is on usenet, and getting hardware drivers here.

Didn't even notice the forums until early last year, and thought that I had to pay for a membership to join the forums. (Thanks to Ya_Know for straightening that out for me)

Joined October of last year, after paying the membership fee, so I guess I have contributed to this place in more ways than one. You guys are sort of like family now, which I never expected. But I have seen you folks repeatedly pull together and support others here who have been hurting over something in their lives, and that is what real friends do.

I used to read alot (lurk). Then one day saw the pay thing on the front page and thought that I couldnt join. April 2003 , first time joined and posted cause of a driver issue I think, it was with my current pc. I was only around to make a couple of posts(3 or 4 i think).

Then came back in March 2004 and started posting again, made some good friends, like adept & -ed, NooNoo,all very helpful, lotsa other too. Then I began posting, I never touched the Lounge, cause I never read the rules and didnt bother with socializing. Then came the real deal, the WOTPP, after joining that, I can proudly say by my calculation ,

3750 posts / 10months = 12 posts per day.

I've learned alot from what I read here daily. I dont think I will ever stop coming to the forums, well, maybe, but for now, its home away from home.

I just started last week, I'm a newbee. I like Trip, Webbie, Techs, and Freddy cause they all cause trouble. I used to like Cleetus, then I found out he was from Texas, I heard about steers and queers...

Anyway...I don't know why I started here besides drivers. Or why I've stayed. But it's been real. ;)

started back in 97, when the drivers were FREE! have always used the same screen name, but with 2 accounts (lost the pw and the email accounts for the first one back around 99 after they started charging for drivers)

This one time, I went to Grover's house. We drank beer.

That's my WD story.

Me and Spaceman Spiff one time closed all the bars in the Seattle Metro area (tic). ;)

Actually we did stick around until the Outback closed though. :D
