We don't really have a forum for stuff like this, do we?
Anyway, I've been seeing some good deals show up lately. CompUSA has a PNY 1GB player that's about $150 (after a rebate, though) and my GF found a Rio Nitrus 1.5GB for $180. Anybody know what these are like? I didn't get a good look at the PNY, but the controls on the Rio were pretty simple. I didn't even see anything that looked like it could be used for navigating directories.
I like my Rio Nitrus. The menu button is on the right-hand side of the player, when you press it the display goes into menu mode. That's how you navigate the menus, select music to play, etc, etc. using the 'joystick' on the front of the unit. You can select to play by artist, album, genre, track, year of release, new music (added in last day, 2 days, week, etc) or by playlist. It also has a graphic equalizer with custom or presets, a stopwatch, etc.Quote:

My bro recently got a Creative Zen Extra, the new Zen Touch is amazing, it was decently priced for a 30gb with good menu and excellent EAX audio. On the tiny ones, there is so much to choose from.
The super capacity ones are out of my price range. The Nitrus is a little more than I can really afford (I'm broke) but I think I'll get it anyway. One more question: Does the Nitrus (and similar mid-capacity players) use flash memory or something like a micro-drive?Quote:
