I have a ABIT BD7, P41.8A, 256MB PC2100, WIN98SE, Microsoft Nat Keyboard Pro. The system appeared to be normal but I lost the use of my keyboard, it would power up and I could do a few key strokes but they it would stop working. bought a new keyboard just in case it was faulty but I have reproduced it with the new one. I then cleared the CMOS but now it won't boot because I can't get access to the bios, any idea's, I feel that the board is faulty, only had it for a week?

Well, if you were able to reproduce the problem in a new keyboard then the fault lies with the motherboard. Try using a USB keyboard to get into your bios...maybe take the motherboard back to shop where you bought it...
Something must be wrong with the PS/2 keyboard controller of your motherboard. I would get the motherboard replaced, but if you want to play with it try a BIOS update. Maybe it would improve the situation. You can do what Lycia said. Get a spare USB keyboard to play with it.

Does that work? I can't get into the bios of my P4T when my logitech is connected via usb but I can when it's connected to the ps2.
You can only use a usb keyboard to get into bios if the usb keyboard in dos support is enabled - most bios's I have seen its default disabled.
Take it back and just get a new board...
If the mobo is new just take it back. You shouldn't have to fix something that you just paid for. It definelty sounds like the PS/2 controller is bad.
It just could be one of keyboard fuses what gone... but I would, like many others have already suggested here, also suggest You return back that motherboard. ;)
