Adobe reader 7 problem - Heads up

Hi all,
There is a bug in Acrobat 7.0 (seems in all version).
The problem is when entering a link to an excel spread**** (or even simple wo`rd document) - the link does not work.
The same works with no problem on previous versions of Acrobat.

I have also noticed a problem opening pdf files made with non-adobe pdf makers in acrobat 7.

Assume you are both Beta testers

Will stick with Adobe 6 until they bring out the Service packs for 7.

Look back at Adobe6 it was the same

My father-in-law's company recently upgraded all their clients from acrobat 5 to acrobat 7 standard edition and everything was fine until he tried to open an engineering e-book that he recently purchased. The e-book uses FileOpen's DRM. Acrobat 5 and 6 had no problems opening it. Acrobat 7 reports that the document is corrupted and unrepairable. Go figure.

No figure about it is there?

They are BETA testers- same as new versions of Autocad

I never did Beta testing (knowingly) - Now I am surprised i did one in my workplace.
Back to the old drawing board.

AS far as Adobe 6 to 7, I like the changes, its better. But I only use it to view basic pdf files, so it works for now. By far 6 was pretty darn horrible.

Deciding when something gets past beta, to candidate release & full release stages in an organisation, is all pretty arbitatory as you can only create so many test situations, from what I've seen of product launches, there's one guy shouting 'get it out of the door NOW, we need sales ..' who all the 'important guys' listen to, & the product quality control guy has to be absolutely sure, once he's commmited to a release date that the only thing stopping him releasing, is something absolutely terrible, that they can, then hopefully, blame on somebody else ..:D

The days of things arriving 'flawless' are well & truely gone due to the massive interdependencies & complications of the environments they run in, you just can't test them fully ! (& you can't test the fixes to the fixes fully etc) - we are all to some extent beta testers now with every bit of software ;)
