i wanna upgrade to geforce6600..
will i be able to play games at high quality at good speed ??...
and even more important for me ...will i be able to play HDTV movies on my pc with smooth playback ??
with my current configuration it stutters like hell..
What stutters Vulcan, the movies or games?

i've been through the codecs...
as for 5.1 audio..i also thought that was the problem.
i found a clip in 720p in wma stereo...still stutters - much les but still ..
so it's not the audio..
there are many manufacturers for the 6600gt..
is this one recommended ?..

I think a 'good' test is just to turn off your sound device in device manager & then try it - if you get no stutter then your s/c is the culprit 'to at least a certain extent' (both s/c & video performance need to be 'going good' to get optimal performance, as well as any memory handling - but I'd have assumed Rambus was fast enough)Quote:

well i disabled the soundblaster live! value and there was an improvement...
what does it mean ??...
the soundcard is to blame ??
upgrading to a better video card will not solve this problem ?
