AMD/ASUS SK8N Issues

System overview:

ABS 6350 CTO 64 bit machine
SK8N FX 51
4 X 512 MB Corsair XMS RAM
Dual 120 Gig WD HDD's, Raid 0
ATI 256 MB DDR video card
New "Ultra" Xconnect 500W PS
Fans out the wazoo...no cooling/overheating issues known.
Not overclocked.

Various peripherals

XP Pro, SP2

Here's the issue: This machine usually runs 24/7, in fact, has been for around 14 months. Suddenly, w/o any software or hardware changes, PC shut itself down overnight, in the AM refused to boot...no post, power turns on, nothing else.

Tracked it down to a bad stick of RAM. Replaced the old PS and the affected RAM at the same time, everything worked well. Now, two months later, same thing...now two RAM sticks fail. PC works with a pair of sticks, reducing my RAM from 2gig to 1.

I've never had a machine "fry" RAM at this pace. Before I go and replace the two that are now defunct, has anyone heard of issues with this mobo/RAM configuration that may be the problem? Is there something I should be doing or thinking of that would solve this? [I'm actually thinking if there is a "next time" going to a mobo replacement...]

Had a simular situation with a Gigabyte MB, seems the cpu fan quit, and the PSU fried. :rolleyes:

I am not here to diz Corsair but
I had stick of exactly the same ram go.
Warranteed for lifre so they replaced it.
The other developed odd write to memory bloc errors so.
I replaced them both with Kingston Hyper-X
Dont know if that helps but Corsair went on me so
Different motherboard and Cpu

I think you are thinking right :thumbs: .. if you 'needed' to change the psu because it had 'cooked' some ram - just ask yourself what it went through while it was doing it ;)
