epson stylus 1520

I have a brand new system, win98 SE. installed an Epson stylus 1520 on a secondary pci lava LPTport2. Installed drivers from disk and downloaded drivers from Epson. I get the same error message that it can not print because the spooler manager can not open. moved to LPT1 and same error message. this printer was working fine on the system that I replaced win 98 se as well.
Any Ideas?

Not really, had little to do with Epsons, but you may be able to work round it if there is an option to turn off disk spooling.

Uncheck any option you can find with a description like "Spool to disk" and see what happens.
