I'm debating on whether or not to go with a desktop replacement or a mobile...I'm leaning towards desktop replacement. I don't mind the weight, and the short battery life, because I can plug in anywhere down here, I even have a DC-to-AC Converter installed in my truck! but I really hate Intel.
but not as much as I hate Dell.
I worked for dell a few months ago as a Field Service Technician...covering a 250+ mile radius of my home, doing in-home hardware swaps. they weren't paying me enough for that crap.
Anywho, I checked out an acer laptop at Sams with an AMD 3200+ processor, 1Gb ram, 80 gig HDD, integrated video card (with 256 mb ram installed on the video card, seperate from the 1Gb system ram) for about $850. I'm thinking about bumping some savings...
as far as Price goes, I'll go to $1,000 max, even though it will take a couple weeks to build up the cash. but it'll give me a goal.
