Yep - sad day. Grew up with The 2 Ronnies, Porridge etc making us laugh.
Will be missed.

The two Ronnies was about the best TV there is.
A very clever & funny guy , I enjoyed all his stuff
I suppose every cloud has a silver lining though, so this'll be a good excuse for lots of repeats of some of my favourite TV shows !
I really loved The Two Ronnies. Watched the tribute programmes last night and did anyone notice Ronnie Corbett nearly crying on the News? Poor Ronnie it must be awful for a famous double act to lose half of the act.
Thanks for the laughs Ronnie

yup, a sad day for british comedy - nothing even comes close anymore :(
I must assume that he was a UK star?
Where would a Yank like me might have seen him?
and how!
I looked for some information on whether Ronnies were shown in the US, didn't find anything clear.Quote:

I have BBC America available through digital cable, but haven't seen any of the shows mentioned for Ronnie. I will keep looking. Have been able to see reruns of some of my favorites: the Black Adder series and, of course, Monty Python. I hope to catch some reruns of the Young Ones. :p
You want to watch out for (most of these are mentioned in here somewheres)- Porridge, Going straight, The two Ronnies, Open all hours (my personal favourite, where he teamed up with David 'del boy' Jason of Only Fools & horses fame ) & his first real impact both as a performer & a writer in The Frost Report, from way back in the sixties ..Quote:

John
Maybe BBCA will run a retrospective of his shows to promote the DVD. But I will have to buy the compilation and keep it next to my tape of the original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, as broadcast by the BBC. :p
