DI-624 Disconnecting Issues (Apparently Common)

So, I'm running a DI-624 Wireless Router and it disconnects every 30 seconds to every 3 minutes usually. Some times it will not disconnect for quite some time. I don't know why it goes nuts sometimes and works fine others.

I've done some googling and apparently it's quite a common problem but there's no real solutions. I've followed a couple of guides that advice you it's best not to use SSID hiding and range boosters so I turned all that off. Updated firmwares, etc. But to no avail.

So I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything to fix or improve the condition of this crappy, crappy router.

I have a DI-624; not having any disconnect issues however I did have when Super G with Turbo mode was enabled on the wireless.

I am hiding SSID, extended range off and using WPA2-Auto with AES and PSK, MAC filtering is also enabled.

Latest firmware is 2.70 as far as I know.

What type of wifi card are you using to connect; does it have the latest drivers?

Edit: Sorry, should have said that I set to Super G mode without Turbo, I didn't make that clear.

not familiar with it myself, I take it that it doesn't have any sort of inactivity timers, etc. ?

No, only on the WAN interface and that shouldn't affect WLAN.

I assumed wireless from this comment.

The problem as far as I am concerned is a WAN problem only because every computer here is on the WLAN. However it's not only a WAN problem as far as I know. The whole router reboots. All lights go off and slowly come back on again, knocking off LAN, too. The WLAN cards are fine, they seem to work flawlessly on other WLANs.

Turn the intrusion logging on in it & send that somewhere & see if that reveals anything ? I'm thinking DoS attacks ? I have one too ! & I know you can reset it pretty easy with certain stuff ..

I question it being a DoS attack to be honest. I've googled it. It's quite a problem for this particular make and model of router. I guess there's no harm in try though. What do you want me to send intrusion logs to?

What about activity LED's? - Are they blinking like a madman before it resets?

LEDs on routers always blink. What do you want me to tell you about them?

Edit:

I went to go check. The router is downstairs next to the modem.
The "Status" and and "WLAN" is always flashing slowly. "WAN" flickers hard all the time but I assume because it is never inactive.

Sorry, I was thinking that if there were an idle time where all PC's were off, you should see little to no activity on the WAN side.

I'd have to check that. But take my word for it, there's barely an inactive connection here. I have no idea what is causing the disconnecting though. Seems to be a good day. Doesnt seem have to have disconnected yet. Surprising!

I have the same router useingboth wired and wireless and netiehr has any issues that I have seen in a yr

The whole router reboots therefor WLAN and LAN both go off. Is there any reason (other DoS attack) that could cause routers to reboot?
