Oh and this happens in both IE and FF
You having any other connectivity problems on the LAN? Maybe TCP / IP got screwed; you could try removing all network components, rebooting and reinstalling.Quote:

Is there a software firewall on the machine?
Do you have a download accelerator on the pc?

Im going through an ADSL modem.
No firewall
I have Flashget, tried it with that and without, always the same.
Could be a coincidence and there is a problem with your ISP; doubtful though. Can you use another machine to check if the same thing happens.Quote:

Use Spybot to check for installed BHO's and ActiveX controls; maybe a nasty in there somewhere.

try that, WinSock XP Fix 1.2.
Is browsing ok? Like for long periods of time? Or does it die/lose connection every few minutes?
Browsing is fine, small update, I can download zip files it seems, I was trying to download a WMV file and it didnt work, just kept freezing so a friend downloaded it and zipped it up and I downloaded that fine, so seems anything not zipped up is the prob and I have no idea how to fix that or where to begin.
Anyone pls?
Have you tried other files?Quote:

You don't have any problems browsing?

Tried all of that, and nope, no probs browsing, its just downloading stuff, anything non zip related doesn't download.
Thnx
Hello,
Try downloading from another Program - For instance Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/) has an option to paste link and issue a Get command for the file. Also there are numerous GET tools from command line ;).
This Way you can know if the problem is in your browser and or getright (or flashget whatever they are al f%^&d up if you ask me) or another place.
Cheers,
Gabriel
