Goto START>RUN and type sfc /scannow - you will need your WinXP CD OR will need to redirect the query to your i386 folder (set hide system files to off, ie, unchecked) in order to fix the corrupted windows system files, if found by scan.
Try that.
I was not given an option to redirect the query. Where can I get a CD for Windows XP SP2 Profesional?
I had alredy fixed the problem. It was due to regestry corruption.
Great job could you give us a description on how you found and corrected your registry. Just so we all could learn from it :)
I used Winsockxp.exe.
