Mysql command
Here is the situation: I have a csv file. The file has:
row 1 jsmith, math
row 2 jsmith, english
row 3 jsmith, history
row 4 jsmith, science
row 5 jdoe, math
row 6 jdoe, science
row 7 jdoe, english
row 8 jdoe, spanish
etc.
What I want is to end up with is this:
row 1 jsmith, math, english, history, science
row 2 jdoe, math, science, english, spanish
Any ideas? Access, Excel or Mysql? Help please.

group by.... but I assume you want another csv output?
So I suggest you create a new table, then update each row in the new table with the data from the old using a loop...
In excel I think you could achieve that with a vbscript...
Which approach would you prefer?

Thanks, Noo Noo for your attention to my problem. I think an Excel solution would be great.
-
And you know how to write vbscript?

I have a guru I can consult with.
