You may have to take the lid off the case and check that there is an audio cable and its connected correctly
and then check your software settings and audio options in the program you use. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

it was working until yesterday, i think there may be a problem with dvdrom but it has nothing to do with sound rite, thanks for help
-
no the audio cable is connected, i don't know what the problem is
-
Does the dvdrom play CD sound?
What software are you using to view the DVD? Is this a shop bought DVD?
-
i'm using cyberlink power dvd, dvd is all i bought at movie shop
even with cyberlink it was working but i think there's major probalem with dvd-rom
-
Does the DVDrom play a music cd?
-
yea, it does, it plays music and i can listen to music from dvd-rom
the only problem is the dvd video, when i play dvd movie(bought from store) there is no sound, if i play videofile from harddrive there is sound. only dvd video does not give any sound.

OK, so from that we can say that there is nothing wrong with sound on your machine... there is something up with the DVDrom. Have you tried a number of different shop bought dvds?
according to Cyberlink you need to reinstall powerdvd and apply any patches from here (please check your powerdvd version!)
-
You havent hit Mute by mistake and not noticed have you? Just checking.
?
-
Also if it is XP you should not need the audio cable from the dvdrom to the sound card

-
Did you reinstall powerDVD? Did you apply the patches?
-
i tried to install patches, but i only have trial version so it's not working
-
oh... has the trial expired? If you need a free player there is a basic one at www.videolan.org
