Welcome to Windrivers promarc
user32.dll should not have a space, can you confirm the exact spelling (including upper and lower case) on this file please?
This MAY indicate some sort of virus or spyware. What antivirus program do you have?
Do these messages appear at startup, does XP get to the desktop? Do these messages happen when you click something?

The error in HHctrl.ocx seems to suddenly have been hitting lots of computers after windows updates. The control is used for the activeX control in the user help interface and there was a patch pushed out Tuesday to stop a vulnerability. I have been looking to see which one was causing the error but so far have not found the KB that contained the patch.

This is apparently Microsofts patch for that issue the error
rthdcpl.exe.illegal system dll relocation and underneath this i also get dll user 32.dll was relocated in memory and dllc:\windows\ssystem32\hhctrl.ocx
points to an issue with the Realtek audio driver and the patch they pushed out Tuesday. They have released a fix for it but might have to be installed as an administrator.

dll user 32 dll
thanks guys its when i switch my lap top on the desk top icons come on fine then the first bar that come's up is this The system DLL user 32.dll was relocated in memory The application will not run properly, The relocation occured because the dll c:\windows\system32\HHctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for windows system DLLs. the vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL's if that helps, hopefully its nothing major and my spyware is norton ive done a full system check nothing wrong there

So you need to go to your motherboard manufacturer for a sound driver update and refer to futuretechs link.

here is the audio driver download it to a place you can find, eg c:\sound then unzip the files - there should be a setup file in the unzipped files - double click it and follow the installer instructions.

tried that noo noo and it gives me this ftp folder error, windows cannot access this folder, make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder DETAILS:The operation timed out

Oh well, you will have to learn to use the ACER download site... click here Choose your travelmate (2490) as they do drivers by model series. The use the xp drop down box to select Audio Driver Realtek. If like me you just get a bleep and nothing happens use the link at the very bottom of the page - ftp site. Select driver then choose Audio Driver Realtek Ver.5.10.0.5273.zip
