Live Update Blocked
The Live Update function in my Norton 2007 stalls part way through its search for updates. This started happening after I upgraded to 2007. Symantec suggested I reinstall the program, which I did but the condition remained. Possibly something is blocking the Internet search for protection updates but I don't know what to disable. Any thots?

Welcome to Windrivers Estycal
Do you have another firewall or antivirus program installed?

Live Update
The Norton is the only program I added, but it's possible Internet Explorer or Yahoo has something in place. How would I check that?

IE or Yahoo wouldn't block live update.
If you upgraded norton rather than uninstalled the old version and installed the new version, it may be the old norton is still there and blocking the new norton.

Could also be you need to download and install livew update by itself to correct the problem

Then install the 2007 - make sure you have it already downloaded to someplace like a folder called 'Norton 2007' or similar AND you have your registration info handy (both the old and new is recommended).

also check and make sure windows firewall and nortons firewall are not buttin heads

Thanks to all who replied to my LiveUpdate blocked plea. I really appreciate it. The responses got me directed toward what turned out to be the ultimate problem. LiveUpdate was blocked by my D-Link wireless router. I realize I had failed to mention that I had a wireless connection. Anyway, I temporarily eliminated the wireless connection and went direct to my DSL line. Problem solved. Again, thanks for the suggestions. This is a great site.
