Problem with Sound Dell 330 Precision WS
I have a user on the network whose sound does not work. When I view Device Manager, I see Multimedia Device under "Other Devices". but, I can expand Sound, Video, and Other Devices and the the drivers there for SoundMax. The unit is running W2K Pro.
I have used the Drivers and Diagnostic CD to reinstall the drivers {after first removing them as it says they are already there} but I still see a "Found New Hardware" dialouge during startup.
I have also gone to Dell's site, plugged in my service tag, and downloaded the software package, which was different than that on the system CD, and still have had no luck.
Any ideas on which direction I can head to solve this problem?
