No Sound with Windows XP Pro
I have installed Windows XP Pro on a Compaq Deskpro EN Desktop PC.....I now have no sound...in Audio Devices it shows "no audio device"....Multimedia is SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio -all the drivers are there with no explanation points or question marks...
What can I do to get sound back?????:confused:

Well, I had XP home edition before this and the sound worked fine...in Audio Devices, everything is greyed out (cannot click dropdown)....Audio is enabled in BIOS....:confused:

I have a Compaq Deskpro EN Desktop PC 1.0 ghz. I have instaklled Windows XP Pro, but now have no sound.
I look in device manager and see Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media control Devices, SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio, unknown device and Video Codecs (none have ?/!).
