DVR to Computer
I know prolly not the right place to post this but Im going to ask anyway.
My Tivo has svideo and also my video card in my pc. If I connect the 2 is there a way to see whats on the dvr harddrive and view it on my pc? Or is there some software to purchase that will allow this?
If anyone has any ideas please let me know and thanks for the help.

The svideo connection carries an image in the form of an analog signal, so can't be used to perform any computer functions such as accessing the drive in another device. However if the connection on your video card is VIVO (Video In, Video Out) such as on an ATI All-in-Wonder, you could play on the Tivo & do video capture on the computer. But if the computer's svideo is the more basic output only (for TV or projector), then it can't help you.

Tivo does run linux and there are tons of hacks for Tivo's. What you are talking about can't be done with s-video but Tivo's do have a serial port and some other hackable features. I am sure if you check out this site and some of the links you will get be headed in the right direction on what is possible:
