How can I retrieve deleted DSCF data off card

I deleted all data off my lGB Xd card in my Fuji S9600 thinking the files had all downloaded on to my computer but in fact I interrupted the download of very file I want, a large AVI file of my cat playing. I am brokenhearted, can I retrieve the file?

UPDATE

I have found my movie and everything else that was on the card using the demo but there is no save button so I guess this is because it is a demo. I am now scanning the card using the free program but boy is it slow!

I do not want to buy a program just for one file and it would be cheaper to persuade my cat to perform again if I could get him to do it exactly as before it was really funny chasing his tail and kicking the hell out of a toy pull ring mouse but Ferrit the demo program is good !

RT5he free program has found one file, there was only one AVI on there and I checked AVI so looks like I have struck lucky!

Have retrieved file but Windows Media Player will not play it saying it is corrupt or not recognised. Will look for something else to play it, any ideas? I have the same problem with some MP3 converters when Win dows Media Player does not recognise the file :confused:

I downloaded and tried a number of AVI players non of which recognise the file and GOM which claims to play even corrupt files only played the first few seconds and the quality is dreadful. I know it was a good file because before I inadvertently deleted it I played it back on my camera.

Time to persuade my cat to do it again!:D

'Fraid so MorseLady. This is one reason why I never delete anything without first burning it to a cd or dvd.... it's also the reason I have a several thousand cds!

Noo I also back up everything but this was an instance of thinking the download from the camera to PC had finished because I have problems seeing my screen sometimes as my screen faces the window and without checking the downloaded files I cleared the card in the camera. I will be more careful and maybe I should think about rearranging my workspace :cool:
