I have Xerox 6120 Phaser printer, it was working over the summer, which switch to DHCP and now even when I look up the IP address I can't get any computer to print to it. I have also Pinged the printer and it times out.
Any ideas?

check the ip in the control panel of the copier. You may want to set a static IP for a network printer:thumbs:

If you ping the printer and it times out then the printer is not connected properly or the IP address you are pinging is not the ip address of the printer.
Could you explain a bit more about what you did to switch to DHCP and why you did that?
I know how to make an a reservation on the DHCP, (that's the same as a static IP right?) it's the same IP address as the one that prints out from the menu on the printer, I've check the wiring on the racks and made sure it's connected and made sure the line works. I'm stumped
No. A reservation is being handled by the DHCP server, a static address is "forced" on the peripheral itself and will be there even if the DHCP server goes down.Quote:

There is a pool of addresses the dhcp server is allowed to assign. This is the scope. Check that the ip address you have given the printer is not a dhcp address. If it is you either change the printer's ip to one outside the scope, or you change the scope - up to you.
