Traffic Volume Monitoring Based on IP
Hello
What would be the simpliest, cost effective way to monitor traffic flow of individual ip's on a home based network?
It is a closed network limited to ip's that have been given access to the internet by use of a Mac filter.
The computers are owned separately and I do not have access to their operating systems.
I don't wish to monitor content just volume.
I use a Dlink DI 624 attached to a speedtouch modem.
Any suggests will be considered.
Thank you:wave:
I am listening. Could you recommend a better solution?
Hi Noo Noo:wave:
This will give me rough and immediate results. I would much prefer a simpler and more streamlined solution. Something self monitoring that I check on every couple of days. Something I don't have to break out the notebooks and calculator to read the results.
I have a guest house which I provide an internet connection to our guests. They are students and lately the internet usage is ballooning. I needed to find out who is the heavy user/user's and deal with them directly so that we can create a workable solution.
They are supposed to be running antivirus (Norton AVG etc) and Spyware Doctor. If it is a computer problem I don't want to bother the other guests needlessly.
I don't want to punish people who have done nothing wrong and help those who have find an acceptable solution.
If you can suggest something better for the long term I am all ears. :thumbs2:
