When i put usb memory stick, it shows in the right down corner that my usb is detect, but when i go in my computer there is no sign of my usb memory, i have a mouse with usb port also but the mouse is working, what should i do? could drivers be a problem???????????

It could be drivers, are you using Vista or XP? If so, are the latest service packs installed? Also, look in your BIOS to see if there are any settings for U.S.B. that are set wrong, such as legacy mode. Did the memory stick come with a link or cd with proprietary drivers? Sorry to ask so many questions!

I am using Windows XP Sp3 , with 2 GB ram. and dont have any CD disk with came along with Pen Drive .
I am also share that this Pen drive is running good in my friends Computer which have also windows Xp but with Sp2.
Is it problem related with SP 2 or 3 ?
Are you plugging the stick in the front or the back usb plugs?
I am plugging the stick in the front of the tower.
Quick question, if you plug it into the back of the PC, will it work then? I have seen numerous PC's where the front usb starts failing.
It probably hasn't been given a drive letter.
Open disk management by right clicking my computer, select manage. On the lower left select disk management - the usb stick should show up there but without a drive letter. Right click on the right pane in the usb stick block and select assign drive letter.
some time its work when i plug in behind of the tower, some time not
or some time its give the error ( USB NOT RECOGNIZED SOMETHING )
If it's just the USB stick that's not working in those ports I'm going to assume the thumb drive is going bad or already has gone bad. Have you tried using this thumb drive in another computer to see if it still works?
I have a similar kind of problem in that USB sticks are supposedly installing ok but XP (Home) does not seem to give them drive letters on install.
My PC is fairly new (8 weeks) and came with the C:, D:, & E: already established. I also had fitted a multi card reader which I assume would be drive F: however this does not appear on my drive list, via Explorer, and contains two further USB ports as part of the drive.
Upon receipt I also connected (via USB) an external hard drive (WD 1GB) which successfully installed as J: (and indeed continues to do so even if I pull the USB connector out of my PC and put it back in again.
Inserting a USB stick into various ports I get the following:
- The USB ports on the card reader do not register driver letters when USB sticks are inserted
- The USB ports on the rear of the PC (as part of the mother board) do not register driver letters when USB sticks are inserted.
In both instances the insertion of USB stick into the USB ports DOES fire off the process of installation (as indicated by the 'Found New Hardware & Your new hardware is ready for use' bubbles) However in all instances NO drive letters then get created along with the recognization that the USB sticks have been inserted into the PC.
This is a puzzle as the external hard drive (WD 1GB), which also runs off a USB port, DOES register when I insert the USB connector into a USB slot and an appropriate drive letter IS allocated (in my case J:).
Another thing is that there are NO drives shown in the Disk Management->Storage pane via Control Panel although the E: (DVD-RAM) DOES show as a grey area at the bottom of the pane.
Any help in sorting this would be greatly appreciated.

Right click my computer, select properties, at the top of the general tab, which service pack is shown...2 or 3? If 2, update to 3.
What makes/models are the usb sticks?

I'm using Service pack 3 and its a stand alone PC although I do run the internet through a wireless modem with a cable between me & the modem.
The rest of the house is Wireless!

I'm using Service pack 3.
Stand alone PC connected to a wireless network by way of a LAN cable between me & the wireless box.
USB sticks are 1GB + 1 16GB Scandisk. (Used in other laptops and PC's with no issues)

Are your drives encrypted?
No...my drives are not encrypted.
Its a fairly new PC...8 weeks old.
As I said as soon as I got it I connected my external drive which works fine but as you rightly say something is amiss.
One thing that may help you solve it is that I did recently have a virus which stopped my BITS and automatic updates from working. I did manage to fix that and clear down the virus but maybe the trojan knocked out some other bit of Admin priviledges as well?
Any thoughts on registry entries which may need looking at or services that need to be looked at in order to check stuff?
