PCs Used in Korean DDoS Attacks Begin to Self Destruct
Another entertaining blog from Brian Krebs' Security Fix column in the Washington Post. I doubt if anyone remains unaware of the DDOS attacks that have recently targeted several U.S. and South Korean web sites, but it seems that a new wrinkle in the story is that many, perhaps all, of the infected PC's used to carry out the attacks are also infected with a MyDoom variant that is wiping the hard drives on the compromised machines.
The blog also drew a much higher than average number of responses, many of which are exceptionally insightful. Along with the predictable and less than brilliant "I run [insert non-Windows OS of choice here] and I ain't got no viruses," and "ChromeOS will make the world perfect."
