down grading 64 bit to 32 bit

hey all
i wanna down grad my pc to 32 bit.
my sis got a vista pc 32 bit cd.
is it just a matter of backing up pc , then putting cd in ?

There is no good reason for going from 64 to 32bit unless there is an incompatibility for hardware/software.
You will need to backup all the data, then wipe, reinstall the OS and all software, then bring back your data.

Why would you do that?
No 1 you limit the amount of ram the system can use to 3.2 gigs.
As CeeBee said you have to wipe the drive clean and then install.
64 bit has a complete backwards compatibility to 32.

It's very difficult to find 32 bit software that won't run on Vista 64 or Win7 64. There are still some driver issues, but currently, it seems to me like just about any vendor that has Win7 drivers offers both 32 and 64 bit versions. Right now I'd say it's awfully hard to make a good case for 32 bit Vista or Win7, outside of some pretty unusual requirements. So, pcmatty, why do you want to make the switch back to 32?

because guys i want to play microsoft train simulator and also my raildriver desktop cab controller dnt support 64 bit. so i need help guys.

Maybe run it under Virtual PC? Since it is an old game it might not require too much computing power.

Google is always handy. Starsiege Tribes won't work and nor would my sidewinder controller on my 64bit OS. I googled the OS and the program/controller and spent about an hour total on both to find that there were ways of getting them to work. To be precise, someone made a custome 64bit driver for the controller because microsoft dind't support past xp AND someone wrote a patch for tribes that made it work on Vista/Win7 systems. Make sure you put the model of the controller and the version of windows into the search.

I was saying if its you sisters disk for her PC you cant use it.
