Laptop problems

Hello.

I'm not really sure where I should be posting this, or even if this is the right site, but I've had great help here before, so here's hoping . . .

I've had a number of problems appear on my laptop at the same time, which makes me think they must be related. So far today, even though I have not knowingly made any changes to my computer, the following has happened:

Some internet pages (including Hotmail) load blank.
The Search Companion in Windows is blank.
Some automatic redircts (such as when I logged into this very site!) didn't happen.
System Restore doesn't load.
When I move the cursor over a button and click it, the button depresses but nothing happens.
Clicking "Help and Support" in the Start menu gives no response.

You need to describe your operating system, service pack, anti-virus/malware software installed, what the conditions were when this first appeared (strange sites/disks etc).

Also, do you have the install disk for the operating system?

Also you need to let us know if and with what you have scanned the system?
Sounds to me like your infected.
