A friend of mine said last night that he heard on WSB radio yesterday that there was a report that one of the 9/11 hijackers was driving Nick Berg's car some time before the attack.
I have no opinion on this yet. I'm just trying to find out if he heard correctly or if anyone has a story/link.

Was Osama Bin Laden Involved in the Oklahoma City Bombing?

BILL O’REILLY: Tonight, shocking testimony at the pretrial hearing of
Oklahoma City bomber Terry Nichols, who has been convicted in a federal
court and now is facing state proceedings.
Investigative reporter Jayna Davis, who worked for the NBC affiliate
in Oklahoma City, uncovered evidence that Nichols had ties to the terrorist
Osama bin Laden before the bombing that killed 168 people. Timothy McVeigh has also been convicted in the case and will be put to death on May 16th. And Ms. Davis says there were other people involved beside him and Nichols. But when she took her information to the FBI, she says, well, here's what she told me.
O'REILLY: Jayna, it seems the Department of Justice all along wanted
to make the Oklahoma City bombing and investigation simply a domestic
terrorist incident. But your information is different. Tell us about it.
JAYNA DAVIS, FORMER KFOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER: Well, back in spring of 1995, I was working for the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City and I was assigned to look into people responsible for the bombing. And what we discovered, an intelligence source at one of the highest levels in the federal government later confirmed, was a Middle Eastern terrorist cell living and operating in the heart of Oklahoma City just a few miles from the Alfred P. Murrah Building.
And through the course of our investigation, we located several
witnesses that we deemed very credible at the station and they testified
and told us that they identified an Iraqi national, a former member of
Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard through his own admission later, as being in the company with Timothy McVeigh the day of the bombing, prior to the bombing in Oklahoma City, in the Ryder truck, in the passenger seat of the Ryder truck, stepping out of the truck in front of the Murrah Building just moments before the blast and speeding away from downtown in a brown Chevrolet pickup that was identified by the FBI as a possible getaway vehicle and an official all points bulletin that was identified the day of the bombing.
O'REILLY: All right, let me stop you then. But the Justice Department has never caught anybody there, never brought anybody in or told the press that there was this man, correct?
DAVIS: Yes, that is correct. From what has been publicly stated, they said that they did not believe that there was a foreign connection to the bombing.
O'REILLY: Right, now, you do believe there is?
DAVIS: Yes, I do.
O'REILLY: Do you have any other evidence?
DAVIS: Yes. We have 24 sworn witness affidavits that ties seven to eight Arab men to various stages of the bombing plot from the beginning all the way to the day in which the plot was executed. I have several police records, court records, public court documents that I've amassed, hundreds of documents. I've spoken to law enforcement officials. I've spoken to intelligence experts, terrorism experts, all who confirm various aspects, the most crucial aspects of the witness testimonies.
O'REILLY: Who is behind, then, the bombing, in your opinion? Not
McVeigh and Nichols?
DAVIS: Yes. The evidence that we have gathered definitely incriminates McVeigh and Nichols. Let me make that clear. They were in it up to their eyeballs, according to the evidence we were able to look into.
However, it really is a foreign conspiracy masterminded and funded by
Osama bin Laden, according to my intelligence sources.
O'REILLY: Do you have any other information other than, you know,
anonymous sources to back up that bin Laden was behind McVeigh and Nichols doing this?
DAVIS: I have what has been published on the court record the writ of
mandamus that was filed just prior to McVeigh's trial by his defense team,
that a witness in the Philippines, a member of Abu Sayyef (ph), a terrorist
group that has been identified as being funded by Osama bin Laden,
identified Terry Nichols in the presence of Ramzi Yousef, the convicted
mastermind of the World Trade Center bombing, and several of his
coconspirators in that bombing, and that they were discussing bombing
activities prior to the Oklahoma City bombing. That is on the court record.
O'REILLY: Do we know that Terry Nichols was, indeed, in the Philippines?
DAVIS: Yes, he was. He had a mail-order bride. And I did an undercover hidden camera interview with his ex-wife, Lana Padia (ph), in which she admitted to me ver openly that she felt as if his travels to and from the Philippines, his cover story was having a mail-order bride. But he would go down there by himself on many occasions without his bride.
O'REILLY: So now let me recap. You found out that there was a Republican Guard from Iraq accompanying Nichols and McVeigh on the day of the bombing. You found out that Nichols met with terrorists in the
Philippines, terrorists associated with Osama bin Laden, and you found out
that the conspiracy was funded by bin Laden.
You took this information to the FBI, you told me. What happened?
DAVIS: Well, what happened was they turned me away and refused to take it.
O'REILLY: Really?
DAVIS: Yes. I even took a notary with me and an affidavit and asked the FBI to sign that statement to confirm I tried to turn this information over, because I had had problems in the past. And the agent looked it over and he said fine, we don't have a problem acknowledging you're turning over this information. Let me check with our legal department.
He comes back about 20 minutes later and he says I'm sorry, the legal department has to call the U.S. attorney's office in Denver that's now handling the bombing case in the trial of Timothy McVeigh -- I mean, I'm sorry, Terry Nichols. It was in September of 1997 and it was just prior to...
O'REILLY: All right, so let me stop you. You tried to give information to the FBI in Oklahoma City?
DAVIS: Yes, I did.
O'REILLY: All right, they said I've got to call my superiors in Denver. They came back 20 minutes later, we're not going to take this information from you, which is very unusual, is it not?
DAVIS: Well, I was flabbergasted. I couldn't even speculate why they wouldn't take this information. They had hundreds of agents on this case. They had millions of dollars of property damage. They had 171 victims. Why wouldn't they want to take information from a reporter who had sworn witness statements implicating others unknown in the Oklahoma City bombing?
I can't even speculate to what would be their motive. It was absurd. They outright refused to take the information and that information implicated a Middle Eastern terrorist cell funded by Osama bin Laden as assisting Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols in executing the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building.
Their reasons, their motivations, that's a question for the Department of Justice and the former attorney general.
O'REILLY: All right, Ms. Davis, thank you very much.
Of course, the former attorney general is Janet Reno. Ms. Davis did testify. We called the FBI and they refused to comment, as usual.
Neat. Oklahoma city bombing, an Iraqi nationali formerly a Republican Guard, and Osama funding for McVeigh and Nichols. Geesh, how much don't we really know? Perhaps there is more to the story of why we went into Iraq?

This is pretty old news. After 7 years of allegations she was interviewed by Arlen Spector about this over two years ago. No one has been able to corroborate enough of her story to justify any action. She was even sued by someone whom she named in her investigation for libel. She and her station won the suit but it is very hard to prove libel in America.
At this point she is considered a conspiracy nut and is a self promoter trying to sell her books.
I will admit however the government doesn't tell us everything but it seems a stretch to connect Al-Qaeda to Ok. City. Especially based on evidence that no one else seems to have.
..another point to ponder. I don't recall her facts ever being disputed in the media. I also haven't seen the conservative media use this an an argument in support of going to Iraq. Did I just miss it or is it being supressed out of fear of panicing the public? Or maybe they're waiting until the election to start hammering people over the head with it..
It really sounds like another bogus reason for going to war. The WMD didn't work out. The Hussein-Bin Laden thing didn't work out. Now some people are grasping at straws. Next thing it will be Hussein killed Princess Diana.

And, videos showed the disgraced soldier - made notorious in a photo showing her holding a leash looped around an Iraqi prisoner's neck - engaged in graphic sex acts with other soldiers in front of Iraqi prisoners, Pentagon officials told NBC Nightly News.
"Almost everybody was naked all the time," another lawmaker said.
Many members of Congress left the 45-minute viewing session early, thereby missing the porno performance by England, but there were enough other images of torture, humiliation and intimidation to sicken anyone. "It was pretty disgusting, not what you'd expect from Americans," said Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.). "There was lots of sexual stuff - not of the Iraqis, but of our troops."
Before the pictures of England's sex romps were shown to Congress, the 21-year-old reservist from West Virginia tried to portray herself as a reluctant participant who was just following orders.
"I didn't really, I mean, want to be in any pictures," England told a Denver TV station.
"I was instructed by persons in higher rank to 'stand there, hold this leash, look at the camera,' and they took picture for PsyOps [psychological operations]," she told KCNC-TV.
No wonder that Iraqi prisoner they interviewed wanted to come to the US!
One last thing.
I am getting pretty pissed off at the President, Sec. of Defense etc who keep saying the actions in the prisons in Iraq "Are not the American people" we are good, kind and decent.
They WERE the actions of American people.
In America we rob, rape and kill in numbers that are staggeringly high for a developed country.
We have serious problems in this country which need to be addressed. Assuming that they don't exist when an American puts on a uniform is nonsense.

Any reasonable person who lives in this country knows we have a problem with robbery, rape and murder. In fact many politicians are elected on law and order platforms to try and control the problem. Any responsible military officer should realize that not all his troops are good, decent etc. Safeguards needed to be in place and they weren't. When the Red Cross revealed the situation it was denied.
And the fact is that the people in the photographs were Americans.
And the photographs may end up being the single most influential reason we have lost the Iraqis good will.
and btw do we know if terrorists were driving Mr. Bergs car?

I just want to say that I saw the David Berg video and it was cruel, evil, sadistic and very informative of the kind of people we are dealing with. I don't even know why I looked for it except to satisfy some morbid curiosity of mine, but I'm glad I saw it.
Anyway, the sickos didn't even have the decency to use an axe. The told him he was going to be beheaded and he was struggling profusely. Then they started chanting together in Arabic and they cut his head off with knife....first from the back and then from the front. Like a turkey drumstick on Thanksgiving.
IMHO they don't deserve any pity or patience. I think we should treat them like they treated Berg.....They should be treated like the pigs they are....:D

In America we have a long history of using "patriotism" as a weapon against those who disagree with our leaders.
Patriotism has been a cry used to taint those who question our governments actions. Being in Australia you probably have not seen hour after hour of "news" broadcasts ridiculing those who disagree with the war on Iraq and our conduct of it. You have also not been barraged with a 200 million dollar campaign by Bush to paint those who oppose the war as "weak on terrorism", "anti-American" and "allies of terrorists".
Fortunately most Americans are coming around. Last I looked only about 40 percent of Americans still support the war. Some of those who lived thru VietNam are leading the way to prevent history from repeating itself.
When people criticize and demean me by their posts I remember that most people only believe what they last heard and rely on others to think for them. Those who try to take an objective view have always been in minority. We fight the good fight. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. But if the true patriotic Americans refuse to give in to the tyranny of government in the end we will keep our country.

One of the reasons I just LOVE this forum is the amazing eclectic members we have. We are truly an International community. Maybe more so than any other forum on the 'net. I'm an American and d@mn proud to be one. I make no apologies for it. Am I proud of my country? Yes. Will I stand up for my country? Yes. Do I support all the decisions my country makes? Hades no! Does that make me a bad person? No. Does that make me an ugly American? Well I ain't going to win a beauty contest, but I'm not ugly! In saying that though there are loads of others in this forum that can write the same things I just did. As I have said here, and other forums I frequent, I did not support the war with Iraq. My reasons were more along the lines of - OK now that we've beaten' ya into submission now what do we do with ya? There was no Marshall Plan and I truly believe no long range plan. However, once the conflict began I have been in complete support of our men & women over there (I have a couple of cousins in Harm's Way now) and our allies. What happened in Iraq at the military prison facility was a BLACK EYE for all of America. I don't give a Rat's @ss if the Geneva accords don't apply we are a CIVILIZED country! My reason for my belief is the spin control that the Pentagon is in right now. That being said though I'm not over in Babylon right now. I have no idea, other than an occasional letter from my cousin that tells us what in Hades is going on over there. I understand the need for information and the value of that information but it doesn't help us at all to alienate the same people we came to "liberate". What happened to Mr. Berg was even worse (I have seen the tape-:sad: ). This one act by savage men has done more to galvanize my resolve that these butchers need to offed in worse way. In my "community" it has shocked everybody and the reaction now is go get 'em.
Some of the other items I would like to address while I'm on a late role (um it has to do with PLS and I can't sleep) are general comments.
I work out in the boonies (y'all just won't believe how far out I actually work) so I haven't seen or heard the hours upon hours of newscast ridiculing folks who are against the war, but our satellite feeds are only from LA (the majority) & Anchorage so I guess it ain't making big TV there. Heck far when I'm home I live in one of the largest military communities in the world and so far I ain't seen or heard of anybody who is against the war being ridiculed, led away in leg irons or placed in seclusion on a small island in Cook Inlet. I will ask my wife if any of our neighbors have disappeared though.
I completely understand Mayet's post and the analogy she is making. What I believe that is not apparent, especially to those outside the US, is there is a loyal opposition and a very active opposition. Just to set Mayet's mind at ease we do not have a Bush Youth, there are no Brown Shirts and we don't look up in awe with our right arm raised in the air. H3ll far most people don't have a clue to what he's saying. Face it he gives Yogi Berra a run for his money. I guess my problem is I understand every word he say's (it's a Southern thing and being married to a most beautiful woman who speaks Appalachian helps a lot). I for one am not a supporter of GWBYA. Nor am I a supporter of the Patriot Act (I hope it's allowed to Sunset and have written to my representative expressing my hope). Do I think my Libertarian Party will make a difference - Yes I do. Do I like the Democratic hopeful? Nope. Do I like the Republican incumbent? Nope. But whoever is elected I will support as my President (um until they do something to completely pi$$ me off ;) ).
