In response to the world saying that we meddle in the world's affairs to much, I ask the world "experts" these questions.

What would most lkely happen if America closed all of the military bases around the world and brought all of the service men and women home?

What might happen to the world if America withdrew from the United Nations?

What might happen if America withdrew from most of the alliance treaties such as NATO?

What might happen if America stoped supplying foreign aid to other countries for things such as economic assitance or AIDS research?

What might happen if America stoped giving a rat's a$$ about anything that happened in the world that didn't directly affect America?

America is not perfect. Want to know why? Because we are human. *GASP!!* Say it isn't so!! Well, we are. But the big difference that America has over many other nations of the world IS WE TRY!

We try to produce a way of life that benefit as many people as possible. Are we perfect at it? No. But we try. We try to make things better for other countries that need a helping hand. Are we perfect at it? No. But we try. We try to fund research for diseases like AIDS in poverity stricken countries. Are we pefect at it? No. But we try.

I am so sick of most of the whole frickin world yelling at us because of what we don't do here, what we don't do there.They complain about what we might be doing in one place, but ignore what good we might be doing in another location. Nelson Mendella (sp?) in South Africa called the United States of America, " A country that doesn't care for the worlds' people" 2 days AFTER the US gave close to $10 million to South Africa for AIDS research and prevention.

I think the most of the world needs to wake the F up and take a look around to see how much their countries contribute to the better of the whole world. They I think would be surprised at how little they actually do.

Neil Boortz. He's a very good talk show radio host and part of the reason that the left is so frightened of talk radio. I joined the libertarian party a couple years ago and have been listening to the show for about 4 years. The show has been picking up steam rapidly.

Those questions I gave are some of the things that would be answered in mostly negative ways if America did in fact mind our own damn business. If the United States did go back to a mild form of isolationalism, how would the world react? Would they rejoice that the troublesome Amreicans are no longer "flexing it's political muscles at the expence of the taxpayer's money" like Mr. Monkey said? Or would there be dire consequenses are a result?

As Clammy put it, The US would loose alot of its political, and military power through the world. That would be the point.

Since I am a firm beiliever that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it, one would have to look to history to maybe answer some of those questions.

What would have happened if the US had pulled out of Europe immediately after WW2? Millions of people would have died from lack of sanitation facilities, food, and water. Russia would not have provided any because Stalin wanted ALL Germans to suffer and he could have cared less for the French and Itallians. England was not in a position to supply those items for the rest of Europe because of the pounding they took for many years. If would have taken many may more years for Europe to get back on its feet without American assistance. There is something else I believe would have happened. Russia would have invaded the rest of Europe and not have stoped where they did. Without the presence of the American military, there would not have been any threat of serious retaliation to deter Stalin. Without the exsistence of NATO, which the primary leader of was America, the WARSAW PACT nations would have taken control.

Without American contributions to the United Nations in the wars in Korea and Vietnam, who is to say how many other countries would have fallen to Communism? If it wasn't for American interest in the Phillipeens (sp?), China would have invaded that country. Japan might be a 3rd world country right now if not for American help in rebuilding. The naiton of Isreal might have never happened, and the Jewish people in that area might have been erradicated by the arabs that hated them so had the US not recognized Isreal as a nation and sold them military hardware for defense.

So those are a few things of the past. Now lets look to possible futures. Without the United States support in the UN, who would have the military strength to stop an invasion like Iraq did with Kuwait? Who in the United Nations would have the military strength, and the political grapefruits to stop human attrocities like in Kosovo?

Now I know that if Canada, England, France, and other nations bonded together, they would have the military power to police the world. But one big quesiton remains. How would they get there? No nation has the ability to transport troops and equiptment like the United States. Nobody has the cargo planes of sufficent amount, the cargo ships, the sizeable Navy to bring the items and people needed to police a certain area.
I can go on and on.

Now it may sound that I am tooting America's horn here, and in fact I am a little. But the fact of the matter is the United States in the worlds police force because no other nation has the ability, nor do they have the desire or the want to do so. No other nation wants to take the lead. No other nation has the capacity to lead. They may have the ability, but not the capacity.

In closing, I agree that the United States does stick our noses in places where it doesn't belong, but it is really amazing how hypocritical people are. America is so evil they say, as they ignor the graves at Normandy. America is so power hungry they say as they cash their American based company paychecks. America is the devil they say as the exports and imports to and from America go out and come in. America is no good for the world as they greedily accept American aid to help them rebuild after an earthquake.

This whining and b*tching is the exact reason I would love to see what would happen if America stoped giving handouts, and let the world fend for itself in EVERYTHING. What do you think would happen?

But I want to throw in a theoretical wrenching question into this.

Would the world better off if the USA never existed or not??

Seriously, what would our world be like if AMERICA never existed?

Maybe less pollution and less hogging of resources.
We already have a good idea what it is like right now with AMERICA in existence.
