And I really don't think that the US can be blamed for the worlds polluting problems. We're definitely part of it, but pollution wouldn't 'magically go away' if we weren't here. Not too mention how overblown the whole pollution argument is anyway. But lets not throw another crossroad into this thread. It might never end!

Saw a special on discovery or heard somewhere (i.e. I can't back this up) that western nations, due to regulation do not pose the polution risks of 30 years ago or before. Our military still polutes willy nilly but normal corps and other stuff has been cleaned up and regulations keep things cleaner than they could be and keep things getting cleaner on a continual basis.

Most of the worlds worst polution spots are in comunist block nations who spent almost every penny on the military and not infrastructure and did not regulate. There is also the third world which we in the west all use to skirt regulations when it is convenient. The smaller nations, hungry for money, let their people get poisoned for western corporation money. Polution keeps moving around, not getting better. There is a world polution problem but yes it is overblown.

I have to agree with Ilovetheusers that America is only a part of the pollution problem, I would look to Russia and China and Europe and yes, Canada too as all having noses that are not clean there.

However I believe the worst polluters are not generic citizens with their cars and water and electricity consumption. Cars are certainly part of it, mind you! But the worst polluters are nuclear reactors and chemical companies and oil companies... the world has always had cows passing gas and forest fires burning and stuff like that; but mark my words, it is the highly technological pollution, the toxic, biochemical, and radioactive wastes, that will damn us in the end.

THIS is why I compare Dubya to fatal cancer. Because he is aligned with industries that are not interested in suppressing their side effects.

As far as this generalization you have about the President being affiliated with polluting industries...I think you have gone over board...There has to be something more to this whole facial cancer correlation thing...

No, it's really that simple... the analogy is meant to say that one thing means quick and painful destruction, and the other means a long and drawn out death. Both are fatal in the end it's just that one thing looks better than the other.

I believe that having any corrupt leader in power will eventually result in the fall of the American Empire. Same as Rome before you. And I believe that GW is corrupt enough to continue moving you along that path.

That's the entire comparison, as far as I am concerned.

P.S. yes, Mexico and many other nations are terrible for this too...

So then by this logic, Bush is an improvement as far as I'm concerned. From everything I've seen, Clinton was a hell of a lot worse than Bush.
