Here's the next theory.

1400.

Initial 100
100 + 100 = 200
100 + (200 + 100) = 400
300 + (400 + 100) = 800
500 + (800 + 100) = 1400

One hundred is added to the resulting value, which is added to the value that was added in the previous equation.

Distance running progressions

100 meter dash
200 meter dash
400 meter dash
800 meter dash
1500 meter dash

These are the standard events I believe in track. They also proceed on after that I think.
