For the record…

I’m a conservative Republican.

Served 4 years, 1/92nd Field Artillery, Fort Hood, Texas, Sgt, E-5. I worked in the Fire Direction Center.

Family emigrated from Palermo, Sicily in 1902 to New York. I’m a first generation Texan.

I support military funding, pay raises for police and emergency personnel and pay cuts for politicians.

I also believe in peace and fighting fire with water. Now is the time to show the world our substance. We need to bring to justice these terrorists and we need to do it without killing another child, destroying another home and maiming another (innocent) human.

What should we do with the convicted terrorist? A public execution would suit me fine… but I DO NOT want to see more innocents hurt, regardless of what country they come from.

During the Vietnam war I was a Conscientious Objector. On moral and Philosophic grounds as well as the fact it takes an act of Congress and a 2/3 vote to go to War.

THis is very different. I never believed in terrorism and the fact the word is used (I do know I'm using it ) is like tolerating a childs misbehavior. Either something is wrong or not.

A violent act commmitted for a political, economic or religious goal is an act of war.
It is not an illustration of truth or oppression.

Imagine if Microsoft would send out software to blow up AMD CHip computer because they are buddies with Intel. Thats not a marketing campaign, its industrial espionage and destruction of personal property.

Getting us angry and scared is the whole point of these attacks. Let's concentrate on the recovery effort instead, there are thousands of people who need blood, food, clothing, shelter, etc... Don't let the terrorists win

If we are only treating the problem, not the source, won't someone will spring up to make take their place when they die/are killed.

The death of innocents on any side is heinous but what choice may we have? Do we let the killing go unchecked or try to do something? there are nations that provide aide, munitions, shelter, and funding to these guys. Can we ignore these nations contributing to international terrorism? Are they any less guilty? The UN and its governing bodies and trade embargoes only hurt the people NOT associated with the terrorists. That does not mean we indiscriminately retaliate, but we "track down and punish those avialable" If we do not take steps to defend ourselves and retaliate, I fear we may be giving a green light to those who would entertain similar thoughts.
