Having buzz would help a ton but we might be able to find (and will need) another blaster.Quote:

I've done the synapse mission 3 times now and the 1 time we did it with bubbles, it was a walk in the park. That team had 2 tanks, 1 scrap, 2 blasters, and then defenders and controllers. The FF's and the heals keep us up and one defender had radiation poweres so he used accelerate metabolism as often as he could and we tore through in 4 hours. Everyone leveled at least 1 time and had a ton if inf. to boot.
At the end don't forget to have a slt clear so that you can get the SO. That SO make the whole thing so worth it.

Sounds like we may have a pretty good core team lined up then.
Officially stated their intention to do Synapse TF:
Tanker - Jamez Hetfield (16)
Tanker - Stalemate v.6 (16)
Controller - Aumakua (17)
Need to be confirmed:
Blaster - Buzzerbeater (20)
Scrapper - Carbonado (?)
So if we can just flesh it out a bit with a healer and either confirm/find some damage dealers, we have a better than average shot at getting this thing done successfully in a relatively short time.
ILTU, if you need to bring up Aumakua to 18, I'm available either tonight after 9:30 or so, or tomorrow during the later part of the AM. I also have to bring up Stale to 16, so whatever time you need will be fine by me. ;)
Probably going to have to count me out, unless it rains. Then maybe. :thumbs:Quote:

We'll miss ya buzz.
We can pick up a couple blasters and a defender or two before the TF or maybe call on some SG members but from experience, at 1pm saturday, there's not a ton of people on. We'll just need to wait and BS while people show up. I recomend that we get decent level people who can hit the baddies (cause we're not going to be doing most of the damage).
I'm on all night tonight so if anyone wants to try a TF tonight in addition to tomorrow, I'm down. Once you hit high levels, it's going to be the only way to level quickly anyway.
I'lll be praying for rain on Saturday tonight, but I'll most probably pop in after that to see where the action is, ILTU.
But a TF tonight and the strong possibility of another tomorrow... sounds like a lot of time to me. I'll have to think about that alternative, as I was just thniking about hunting in Skyway, hooking up with a new contact there (I only need 2 bars to lvl up to 16).
I'll let you know when I pop in at around 9:30. If Aumakua is on a TF, then the chances are better than average that success is at hand.
Justice, and a$$-kicking, shall prevail!
Cool beans. I actually like doing the TF's so maybe I'll just leach on to one tonight. As for tomorrow, with the bubbles and the fire against the clocks, it's a sure thing. Well, as long as we play smart.
Oh, I forgot. I was spouting on about this the other day but forgot to post it. When fighting, turn off sprint. You will find that your endurance drains a lot less quickly. I find it makes a big difference though you move slowly.
I think you mentioned that during one of our team ups, and I noticed that it did make a difference enough for me to notice.Quote:

BTW, has it started raining yet where you are, meatwad?
Because it will. :D
Couldn't agree more. My end drains very quickly even with sprint off. I would like to hit lvl 17 so I can slot my endurance drains with lvl 20 DO's. That would help a lot I think. I'm just going to have to suck it up and keep saving my $$$ until I hit that magic lvl 17 marker.Quote:

2> Even some of the hunting missions drop a gang of xp at the end. To get it done quickly, defeat mobs that are 2 lvls lower than you so you can hurry through it to get the large xp at the end.
3> Also,.. solo hunting technique: Find a mob, defeat LT or boss,.. then run away. You get more xp for the LT anyway, and running away gives you a chance to build your end back up.
4> Fight mobs that are your lvl or +/- 1 lvl. Groups of (1LT and 2 minions). That way you can defeat them quickly, save end, and get fair xp.
:rolleyes:Quote:

Another tip for the tanks or anyone really. I've noticed that when playing dynamo at 1st I got anxious and would blow my end. quickly in fights and it would drag on and I'd be in trouble or killing slowly. I've found that by pulling my view above the battle, and slowly taking out foes I use far less end and have enough in reserve if I need to pop someone fast (i.e. they agro on my or someone who’s hurt). The battle goes just about as fast too. I’m not sure why but it seems like it just does.
1> Trouble is, my door missions now involve a fair number of foes that can stun/mez/sleep, so soloing is harder. I then have to team up, which increases the difficulty and reduces the overall XP gain. I find it better to find a small team and do PP or boomtown incursions. My wife went up an entire level in PP yesterday (up to 10), leading a team for the first time. :DQuote:

4> I tend to go 1+ if 2-3 are there, even if 3-4, and -1 if over that when soloing. My end drains too quickly for this to be done safely after that when lts or bosses are present.
I'll add this too: Tankers being melee, it's always been a better choice for me to find 5th, Hellions, Clockworks, Skulls and Lost rather than face CoTs or Vaz. Less chance of being incapacitated while waiting for your end to go up enough for just... one... more... punch.
Don't ask me how it works.
I just found it and haven't spent any time on it yet. ;)

I'm home early today. Should I finally do some work on my website? Or perhaps the SG website? Naw,.. I think I'll go start working on 17 now. :D

Inside the mind of a tanker doing a solo mission: "Is this mission ever going to end?"
Thx for helping me along to level 16, ILTU, Wrrby.
That new power, Twirling Hands is pretty good with disorient effect and multiple targets affected. I even got 5 zombies at once during that door mission. That means the foe(s) lose at least one attack cycle. :D
See you for the TF.
Reflections on tanker end drain:
Last night, after teaming up with Aumakua and Jamez Hetfield, Stalemate parted ways to go meet his contact.
A few yards away from destination, a Tesla Prince was encountered. Strangely enough, this level 16 Clockworks boss was alone with no support visible in the area.
Stalemate circled around him to make sure this was the case, and gloated internally "Oh yeah baby - bonus XP just before I log off! YEAH!!"
The battle was not as easy as expected.
Attacks were traded, inspirations used up, and damage taken like it was candy. Even running slightly away to recover a bit and using Dull Pain (HP restore) were not sufficient to counter the major flaw in his Stalemate's armour design... Endurance drain.
Yes, only one more punch away from victory over the malicious Clockwork Prince, Stalemate bit the dust... just a few more poins of Endurance would have garners victory.
Instead, he lay at the very feet of his contact, face down, humiliated, drained.
"That cinches it - I'm aiming for Stamina as a Power Pool", he reflected during the almost instantaneous trip to the hospital where he could hear his wife's comments of "I told you so" in the background echoing in the emptiness left when his pride departed.
Of course, this clock got punched properly when Stalemate encountered him the second time around en route to contact, and with Endurance replenished, the Prince's HP lowered, revenge in his heart and debt to pay - Stalemate did overcome.
But the price to pay in XP, the crushed ego, the embarrasment of just lying there taking it like being on the wrong side at a prison party...
Just too much to bear.
Too much end drain.
From what I hear, the stamina power pool is one that everyone works on by lvl 20-30. I took swift early and it's already useful (gotta take it to unlock fast healing). From what I hear, by slotting it you never run out of end.
Aumakua's next are dispersion bubble, then the health/stamina will be a toss up against stealth.
Once Dinah gets RA you'll be styling. Unlimited endurance for a limited amount of time.
I'm seeing triple of everything right now after working on that TF for 397 hours today. But it was fun. Glad to have lvled up to 18, got some DO's going on finally, got my Super Jump finally,... everything is going well now. I thought for sure we had the all the tools we needed to get the job done for that TF, but it still just wasn't enough. It took too long so our healer left. We need more blasters (more damage) and we're gonna need a solid healer (for next TF) so we can slice through these missions quickly. We're lucky to have gotten that healer today. Not only did he stick with us for 8 hours, he lvled up to 20 so he was a strong asset in healing and damage too. Damn TF's are tough! One day I will know what it's like to finish one. :)
Havent been on cause ive been out of town on Business but I hope to be on some tomorrow...
Hope to see some of yall there!
Labour Day weekend was tentatively proposed for the next TF. ;)
I had fun today.
Was a bit disappointed that we did not finish up the eniter TF - coming within just a mission and a half to completion - but the experience was amazing.
For 9 hours of non-stop gaming, that was a first for me. :p
WebHead failed to mention that, from a group of 7-8 people, there were only 4 of us left at the end. Impossible odds to succeed, unfortunately.
Can't wait for the next one.
Mad props to ILTU for his excellent insight, and th Wrrby for his unending optimism
If the healer would've stayed, we could've finished it in one more hour I bet. Oh well.
I have a question re: Power Pools.
I am under the impression that characters were limited to a total of 4 powers from the entire selection, but now I'm getting the vibe that that number instead referrenced the total number of pools to choose from - meaning a possibility of 16 powers from the pools.
Which is the correct interpretation?
^bump^
Anyone with characters in the 20+ range know?

The most difficult thing with these TF's is having people who can hang all the way through and are not total tards. They really don't need to take forever and can be quite easy and rewarding in the extreme.
The next one needs all of us here so we have a minimum of drop outs. This has always been the main issue with TF's in every one I've done. People sign on for 4 hours then just drop out after 1 or so. I'll never understand that but it happens all the time. I think people do it on purpose just to F with others.
As a whole we are an excelent team but we seem to lack a full compliment of people to do the jobs we need to do at the level we need them at. My suggestion is that when we all hit about lvl 19-22 we all begin using our multiple characters to make the best teams we can. In order to do this we will need to all stop creating new characters. Hey, I love it and it's the most fun in the game but there's a good amount of us that I'm sure would like to know what's beyond lvl 20-26 enemies. I'm concentrating all efforts towards MD (blaster), RG (defender) and AUM (controller) for the rest of the game and I'm getting them all to lvl 20ish or whatever the team needs from now on.
That is great news for both your GF and my wife, actually, as she was looking for quality people to hook up with during daytime/weeknights. RG is about lvl 10, correct? ;)Quote:

I really would like to take another shot at a TF. This is one of the main reasons I even wanted to start an SG with all you guys. Once I hit lvl 24 with my blaster,.. I realized just how tough it is to solo at that lvl and I am assuming it will only get tougher. I knew I needed to play with others that I could trust and communicate with so since we were all here playing anyway,.. I figured this was the best way to go. So far, you guys have risen to waaaay beyond my expectations in terms of skill, communication, teamwork, etc. We always seem to have a great team and it's always a great time. Sometimes we gab a bit more than we probably should (I take most of the blame for that:p),.. but we are there to have fun afterall. Anyway,.. the SG is working out great so far. I think if we can get around 5-6 of us from WD to form a TF team,.. then we could probably run right through it fairly quickly. Doesn't even have to be on a weekend. If we have it well planned out,.. we could probably work it on a weeknight. I would really like to find out how one ends sometime. :)
