that answer would apply if he said using the Digits 1-9 only onceQuote:

If you give each letter of a word into its alphabetical position, you can then add these digits, or you can multiply them. For example CART = 3, 1, 18, 20. Adding gives 42 and multiplying gives 1080.
Can you find a word which has the same total whether you add them or multiply them?
__________
CAB: 3, 1, 2. Adding gives 6, multiplying also gives 6.
You know, I should have noticed that.Quote:

CAB ??
BAC
(Blood Alcohol Content)
Or does this not count as a word?
BB
2x2 = 4
2+2 = 4
Got it.Quote:

What day is it?
__________
Thursday.
Let the day number be D3 (arbitrary), then the day before yesterday is D1, so for it to be referred to as the day after tomorrow makes it D6, the day then called yesterday was D5 - which is as far away from the day we now call D4, i.e. was a day ahead. This is the same as yesterday, D2, is from Tuesday. So D2 is one day ahead of Tuesday = Wednesday and we want D3 = Thursday.
Shot in the dark here, but I'm going to say today?Quote:

If this is just one of those trick questions, the answer to your question:
What day is it?
Would be today, or here in the US, Wednesday ??
no it's got to be president's day, because it's way too confused ;)
OK, not really sure how to post this chicken scratch I have here in front of me to give you an explanation, (it looks worse then a Madden replay) but I'm pretty sure the answer is Thursday.
Well, without an explanation... https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

What day is it? so we are thursday
I'm going to o ahead and give 3FS a point for the correct answer, and a full 3 to Graystone for the explanation.Quote:

Height = 15 inchesQuote:

Height = A
Width = B

A * C = Side = 300
A * B = Top = 240
B * C = End = 180
A little substition and we come up with the values indicated.
There ya go.Quote:

__________
23.
By likely, we mean greater than 50% chance. With one person there is a 0 percent chance that you'll have two people with the same birthday. With two people the probability that they won't share a birthday is 364/365. The probability that they will share a birthday is therefore 1 - (364/365).
With three people the probability that they won't share a birthday is the same as for two people, times 363/365. So the probability that three people will share a birthday is 1 - (364/365) * (363/365). Notice that with each additional person added, the probability that they shares a birthday with one of the previous persons goes up, because there are fewer "free" days remaining. We keep adding people until the %age is greater than 50%. When we have 23 people the %age is 50.729%
