I just heard on the news that two individuals were stopped with explosives strapped to themselves. Whether this is true, I dunno!
I read on page 9 or so that someone said that Israel has the most to benefit from this tragedy. That has to be the sickest thing I've heard in a long time.
The difficult part now (aside from the rescue and cleanup) is to decide who is to blame and how to punish them. Keep in mind that bin Laden does not represent Afghanistan although they have been very complicit in hiding him and helping him run his network. If the US attacks Afghanistan, are they going to attack Pakistan, which holds enormous influence on the Taleban and bin Laden? If they attack Pakistan, is Pakistan going to respond with nukes. If they do, is India going to nuke Pakistan. I'm sure you can all see where this is going.

I've not taken the time to read all 13 or 14 pages that have developed by now, so bear with me. I just want to make a few comments. I've been watching and listening to the news all day as I imagine you all have as well. What distresses me the most would have to be this:

A news post by the BBC. I also saw live pictures of Palestinians burning American flags and stomping on them. This DISGUSTS me. Why in GOD'S name are they celebrating the death of COUNTLESS thousands of people, innocent people. What would posses such a gutless, ignorant, and tragic response from these people? Are they so BLINDED by religious hatred fed to them by their deviant leaders that they think this is something to CELEBRATE over? It goes to tell you something about a society and more specifically a group of people when they celebrate in the mist of death and carnage of INNOCENT people. Do you think any American's celebrated when we dropped the A-Bomb's on two locations in Japan? We celebrated when they declared surrender, but we did not celebrate at the massive loss of life that the Japanese endured. There is NO justifiable reason for these Arabs and more specifically Palestinians to celebrate. They wear American made or designed clothes, they spend American money, they know American English. Even the Russians who have been our bitter enemies in the past have given us condolences, which I imagine their people feel as well. Leave it to fascist, ignorant, racist, hate fed Palestinians and any OTHER group of Arab or Non-Arab people that celebrate this to burn in hell.

I don't know if this helps but I listened to most of today's events on Fox News Radio on the local Tucson Station. Some of the radio host mentioned that they had moved their studio broadcasting from Washington D.C. down to Richmond, VA.
My wife has been glued to CBS TV all day. I have been watching Fox News on the Dish Network for most of this evening.

My heart goes out to all those involved and all who had loved ones there.
Being ex-army, I'm feeling really angry and want to lash out at Bin Laden...but then I think about the OK City bombing. At first, everyone pointed their fingers at the Middle East but after further review, it turned out to be a US Citizen. Even though I think this came from Bin Laden, it would be a shame to just strike whatever country that is there for the picking when it is just a terrorist organization at work that has itself spread out in various countries. I really liked the way GW specified any state that housed terrorist folks were "fair game". I really hope this time we don't just slap the perps of this crime on the wrists. It's about time we stand up for ourselves and quit taking crap from other countries and start taking care of our selves.
This forum is for voicing opinions. Remember that opinions are like...err...noses, yeah, noses...they all smell (OK bad joke).
We as Americans (shout out to all you non-Americans who are voicing their support!!)should be sticking together... right now more than ever! Who cares what unit in the Army we were in. We were all there and at one time or another had each others back. This is a time to put our differences aside and as a collective group... keep a cool head, find out who was involved and then... OPEN A CAN OF WHOOOOP *** ON THOSE RESPONSIBLE!!!

what possiblity does the black box have to be recovered, i have been told that they are made indestructable, but i remmber the TWA flight just over a year ago, there black box was almost not recoverable.
Its a terrible age we live in now, i want to go back to protecting myself from the latest virus and forget about low flying planes.
