That's one of the more interesting features of this game, trying to gauge just how much thought to apply to a given problem. :D

I recall one game with a buddy where I spent a half hour on a single problem (there were no time limits during that bout).

11 seconds.

The clock chimes at each count of the hour, starting at one. Therefore one takes no time. It is a one second cound between hourly chimes. 12 strikes, minus the first, which takes no time, is 11 seconds.
