2 cups coffee and a handfull of aspirin and I'm ready to go again...remove the nvidia drivers from add/remove programs in control panel reboot but don't reinstall at this time. You should be in VGA mode, make sure all referances to NVIDIA are gone from registry. Also make sure OpenGL.dll is removed as well. Once you have done this than reinstall the drivers of your choice as you normally would. I like to do it this way it's a kinda roundabout way to trick the system into thinking you have a brand new vid card installed. Let me know how it goes.

Question (I know this is going happen when I try later):
What should I do when Windows recreates the OPENGL32.DLL again? (there is no opengl.dll)
For cleaning the registry (shouldn't be too hard, I have a good RegClean tool (NOT MS). This sounds like it might work, but I've never had this many problems with Vid drivers (except on Compaq Deskpros without the drivers). I'll let you know how it goes.
If all goes well the openGL32.dll should be overwritten with the new nvOpenGL when the drivers for the vidcard are installed.

It didn't go well... https://forums.windrivers.com/
I'm going to just let this go and if I do something that fixes I'll post it, but until then I'm at a brick wall...
I even tried installing older drivers, deleteing the reg keys and the opengl32.dll (which still recreates itself). https://forums.windrivers.com/
And my brother-in-law wonders why I stick with Win98SE. https://forums.windrivers.com/

When all else fails.....FDISK!
Look in the directory c:\windows\sysbckup - is the opengl32.dll file in there?

If it is, are you suggesting to delete it from there? That would make since...that is where it would store .dll's for recovery for those people that like to delete any file that they didn't create (I know a user that did this once, deleted his entire Windows directory)
I'll mess with that a bit and see if that does anything effective and post the results later. Thanks MacGyver!
