you mentioned that the machine locks up whenever you try to defrag.. i seem to remember a ms issue with defragging a drive over 18gig(?) i think.. but, just in case it's the drive, have you tried a low format or a full scandisk? i recommend nortons NDD.exe

I looked and saw that there was a copy of that vmm file in my windows directory. I moved it out of that folder (leaving the one in Windows/System) and that problem went away. I referenced my dxdiag files with my friend's computer (which works just dandy, and is very similar to mine except he has a KT7+Tbird 900MHz) and found that about 6 of them were different versions. Whether this was something I installed.... well, he sent me the files and I put them in, but haven't gotten a chance to test them.
I'll try another full scandisk, but I did one recently (month or so) and it gave no errors. I know what a low-level format is (mostly) but could someone explain it a little better? I also got a program that writes 0's to every sector of my drive, I'll try that the next time around as well. Next time will be the LAST TIME.

"When properly overclocked" speaks for itself. What about when not overclocked???
I did manage to get that driver installed without missing any files. I used the 4.24 package, then installed the AGP 4.03 driver. All worked well.
I might have solved my problem, but I'm not getting my hopes up. As I said, I referenced all my DX files to my friend's, and found a few that were different. I replaced mine with his (keeping a backup for myself) and tested it out. I only have 1 game on my system for testing, Worms Armageddon. Before it kicked me out at about 30 mins. But today I played it for 30 mins, then later for an hour with no problems. Perhaps, just perhaps, did I fix my SuperBug?
My computer still does wierd things though like it will freeze on Defrag, and give me a Blue Screen sometimes when I shut down my computer. It reads: "Windows has encountered a protection error, you need to restart your system. System Halted"

I was thinking of that AGP 403 driver, I install it on my Asus p3v4x board, this is for any board that supports AGP 4x
Now about Windows ME, I HAD it but I wen;t back to Win 98 SE since ME hogs resources and slows down your system , Maybe not yours since it is 1 ghz
I found WIn ME got slower with time and I defrag a lot
What I would do is a zero fill, fidisk Partition , make maybe 3 partitions, one for Windows one for your games and another for downloads or CD images
Then I would install Windows 98
Now your drive setup is interesting and logical ( One device per controller and I maay want to try it )set your bios to boot from the SCSI and put your hard drives on the controller card and the CD roms on the mother board controllers
