weird I have never had a problem yet with my cable modem. Must be your hardware :)
Works fine under linux and windows 2000 Pro. Even internet sharing.
Are you running a USB cable modem?

I work with Propritary software using SQL. This new.net also hoses SQL even removing rolling back the MDAC and reinstalling still leaves SQL hosed. A great tip to get out there,

WOW, thanks for the tip. Our engineering office uses heating/cooling load calc software that uses SQL. I'll be sure to check everyone's computer using AdAware and force remove newdotnet.
I almost hate newdotnet as much as winmodems. BUT NOT QUITE.
guys avoid the "skinned" versions of IE that the companies market as their @Home Browser, they are slow, take forever to install and suck! a lot of problems i have run into is via the signal, the send and recieve frequencies aren't at high enough levels. or they are to high
